Нормальный ход событий. И теперь
Все те, кто младше, без большого рвенья,
Но вежливо придерживают дверь
И ждут, чтоб мы прошли. И в самом деле –
На выход первым – нам. Вопросов нет.
А то, что мы плетёмся еле-еле...
Пусть подождут – таков уж этикет.
And so, we’re now the older generation:
A natural progression. What is more,
The younger ones, with measured obligation,
But courteously, hold for us the door
And stand aside to let us pass. And that’s just it –
The first to exit – must be we. At any rate,
We shuffle past them slowly bit by bit….
As etiquette demands it - let them wait.
