В этом году не собрали листья,
и стулья с улицы не в подвале;
зелёный зонт тоже не выстирали —
так и оставили, даже не сняли.
Старуха-соседка из дома напротив
снова в больнице. Темнеют окна.
В небе малюсенький самолётик
неаккуратно летит в Марокко.
А там в Танжере лежат апельсины:
лежат на дороге, но лень наклониться;
там женщины яркие, но некрасивы
(сам я не видел — со слов очевидца)
Взять бы, махнуть бы — и hasta la vista —
селфи сделать на Гибралтаре!
Но в этом году не собрали листья,

This year we’ve left fallen leaves to wither,
and didn’t put away lawn chairs into the cellar;
and the green umbrella wasn’t washed either –
we didn’t bring down the green umbrella.
The old-lady-neighbor from across the street
is again in the hospital. Her windows grow darker.
in the sky, a miniscule airplane leaves a streak
stretching above, flying carelessly to Morocco.
But there in Tangier, oranges cover the city:
all over the streets, no one cares to bend down;
the women are radiant, but aren’t too pretty
(haven’t seen them myself – but word gets around)
O, to fill up the bag – and hasta la vista - thither –
take selfies in Gibraltar, in front and center!
