Meetings

Plumstead Historical Society meets on the 3rd Monday of the month at 7 PM at the Plumstead Township Building, with a few exceptions:

 PHS Meeting Calendar  ~

Board of Directors have proposing an expanded meeting schedule. It was suggested by members at the September ’09 general meeting that we separate the business meetings from the speaker program meetings. Business meetings will have general business of the society with committee reports, followed by a village snapshot. Program meetings will only have a speaker. A few variations are listed below.

 ~Program Robin Robinson, Bucks County Recorder of Deeds- will present her "adopt a book" project to help preserve Bucks County deeds that date back to William Penn. 

October 21th 2019 at 7:00pm.

 ~Program Mark Antunes of Honey Hill Farm " Humans and Honey Bee- Prehistoric to Present"

November 18th 2019 at 7:00pm.

 ~Program Rich Kolbe will discuss the book that details a cross country bike trip by Frank Kolbe in 1923 and also his 4 generation family business in Point Pleasant PA.

~Kathryn McKenna, author of Man About Town, for a presentation and Q&A. Man About Town is the story of Lester Trauch, the much admired newsman for The Intelligencer for 51 years and writer of the daily column "Man About Town".

~ Jeff Marshall will present an illustrated, interactive, presentation that will help you understand when an old house was built and how it has changed over the centuries and what clues a house detective uses to answer these questions and more.

April 16th  2018 at 7:00pm.

 ~Carl LaVO program remembering Bucks County’s days as the Country and Western Capital of the East Coast.

May 21th 2018 at 7:00pm.

~Brian Boger will present the history of cycling and bicycle manufacturing.

June 18th 2018 at 7:00pm.

~Show and Tell bring an Old/Historical Item and or share a story about Plumstead
