The Heins

I had two German great great grandparents. The descendants of these and my great great Grandmother's brother converge on Mount Gambier, where they had lived in the south east of South Australia, occasionally, for a reunion.

The reunion would normally consist of a morning of lectures on the family background research, an afternoon of entertainment (there are artistically talented people among the descendants, including noted romance author Cathryn Hein), and then on the Sunday morning a service followed by a historical tour of places where the ancestors lived, went to school, and were buried.

Here, my sister Susan and I visit the grave of our great great parents during the cemetery tour in 2010.

Something like 200 descendants and participants from various corners of Australia participate. Here is a gathering.
