Spherometers

During some enforced Hospital time I amused myself by trying to write a simple Program to facilitate the Calculation and Storage of measurements of, and with, traditional Spherometers. There seems a lot of material on the web on Spherometers, but much is confusing and intimidating to a beginner.

The traditional Spherometer may not be the most accurate way to measure Lens Curvature, but, within its limitations, is a very quick and easy measurement to perform. The calculations do, however, become tedious.

The program contains extensive help and explanations so I will not document them in detail here.

Simply download and unzip the file (below) which contains an entire Directory.

This contains an exe file, a few examples of Spherometer Heads and a few Log files to help you start.

It is suggested the Directory (Spherometer) be placed in \Documents because this will alleviate Permission problems in the more recent versions of Windows.

Start the program by opening the program SpherometerProject.exe and follow the directions and help material.
