OMT
Optical Measurement Tools Ltd. Toolmakers Microscope
Included are copies of documentation which I received with a secondhand OMT toolmakers microscope.
I have scoured the web and found almost nothing on OMT products so these copies
may be some of the last surviving documents on the instrument.
Unfortunately, they do not contain information on disassembly and factory type work.
OMT seems a small concern that once made precision optical instruments - it seems largely driven by
the manufacture of the then Hi Tec parts like Turbine Blades for the Aero industry in England.
Toolmakers microscopes, Optical Rotary tables and Pantometers of high precision seem to be their mainstay.
They took out many patents in precision optical measurement but then faded away.
This instrument looks like 1950's technology.
Some parts are missing, some need replacing, some need fixing - but the instrument is useable.
As I work to restore it, I will add a section on the process - including how to dismantle the beast.
Recently, some history of OMT has appeared on the web. It was absorbed into the Newall Engineering Company in the 60s.
The following should point youj in the right direction.

My OMT is currently doing time as a CNC controlled scribing engine ruling Graticules. See file below ('OMT-Pics.pdf').
