At first, fairing cracks were repaired by professional garage.
It last for two days to repair broken elements. In that time I was looking for fairing mounting kits and screws. Originally I get stainless steel alien screws but later on they were replaced by the black anodised ones. Pitchblack concept cannot flash with silver screws, right? Then I found something like that as a replacement for rubber washers…
I found it on the web between electrical accessories. It suits perfectly as part of fairing mounting kit.
Many ZX-7Rs has cracked main frame painted afterwards in order to hide additional weld signs. Mine had no trace of any repair so I decided to not paint it and keep it genuine.
Finally, repaired fairings had arrived :-)
Then I use a heat gun and bitumen mats to strengthen the fairings. Ok, it is additional 4kg but it’s worth it. Reinforced fairings are firm and still a bit flexible.
Fairings are ready to be sent for painting.
