I believe my unique background as a world traveler and passion for education allows me to expand learning beyond the four walls of the classroom and into your daily life. For my undergrad, I investigated Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UCLA and pursued study abroad opportunities on Semester at Sea circumnavigating the globe and at the Monteverde Institute in Costa Rica. I jumped into grad school at UNC for Secondary Science Education and researched environmental education and conservation for a Master's in Zoology with Miami University's Global Field Program in Belize, Mongolia, and the Amazon. Before grad school, I worked in the field studying birds and teaching in Florida, South Carolina, Alaska, and Argentina and served in the Peace Corps as a Community Environmental Conservation Extension Agent in Panama.

I am a Certified Environmental Educator in NC. I have also had the honor of being a Honeywell Educator at Space Academy alumni, Qatar Foundation International grantee, NCSU GEOPATHS Educator, and Grosvenor Teacher Fellow with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions. When I'm not on my computer, I enjoy backpacking, cooking veggies from my garden, woodworking, graphic design, and keeping up with my dog, Barley.
