Earth/Environmental Science focuses on geoinquiry into the functions of the earth's systems and our interaction with the environment.  The curriculum is organized into units based on the spheres of the Earth (lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere) with a final unit on Astronomy.  Each unit focuses on the processes that drive the system as well as how it affects humans and how humans can affect it.  Learning Goals are outlined in the NC Essential Standards.   Through AOIT, we'll be integrating GIS (Geographic Information Systems) into our study of the Earth as well as tangible models developed from some awesome code.
