Art Deco is very taste specific as a form of architecture, but for the individual elements that compose this genre, a wide-ranging spectrum of tastes can be satisfied. Characterized by geometric forms and new materials such as aluminum, this style was born from the rejection of the organic and overly elaborate decoration of the Victorian and Art Nouveau movements. The result is a style that works just as well in a post-modern penthouse as it does a small 1920s bungalow. Inspirations are pulled from French, English, and Greek design with some hints of Egyptian and "Oriental" influence.
