Course Description
Each student will submit a paper working throughout the semester with their chosen advisor. There will be no lectures, however you need to submit your progress reports (PR) by the due dates. The papers will either be of empirical or economic modeling. The papers need to be presented by the end of the semester. Using Overleaf and Github is mandatory.
Important: All below requirements regarding the relevant due dates may alter over time as you progress on the paper. Hence, these progress reports are technically the drafts of your final paper. Do not feel anxious even if your paper changes drastically. This is very natural and shows that you are finding your pattern.

Requirements
Papers should be written and submitted using a shared Overleaf project. To do this, you need to create an account if you do not already have it. Here is the link: https://www.overleaf.com/project
After you create your account, click New Project on the right-hand-side (RHS) of the page, from More templates combo box, click Journal articles. In the Related Tags section of the mid page, click Elsevier, choose Elsevier Article simple layout template and click Open as Template. All details about the paper including the dataset, codes, any replication files and the methodological steps should be uploaded to the GitHub page of each student. To do this, you need to create an GitHub account if you do not already have it. Here is the link: https://github.com
Each empirical paper should include Introduction, Literature Survey, Methodology including Data and Model as subsections, Empirical Findings, Conclusion sections. Papers with economic modeling will include Model, Calibration, Simulation Findings and Conclusion.
You will upload the pdf version of each below progress reports (PR) to the Google Drive folder.

October 10, 2026 - Determining the Advisor (name should be given in the footnote of the title) and Abstract (including Keywords and Jel Codes)
October 17, 2026 - Determining the Motivation, Research Question, Hypothesis and Originality (should be given in the Introduction)
October 24, 2026 - Submission of a brief Literature Survey and potential Methodology
October 31, 2026 - Determining the Potential Data and Model
November 7, 2026 - Progress 1
November 28, 2026 - Progress 2
December 12, 2026 - Progress 3
December 26, 2026 - Submission of the Full Paper and the Approval of the Advisor
December 28, 2026 - Submission of the Presentation File in Overleaf (may change)
Week of December 28, 2026 - Presentations (may change)
Note: Fall Semester is between 28.09.2026 - 03.01.2027 but I will not be available in-person by January 3rd, 2027.
