Here is a page talking about Image 1.2a and Image 2.0, bulletin board systems (BBSes) for the Commodore 64.
- Image12a-g0895-s1.d64: The first setup disk of a stock Image 1.2a BBS, with my serial # G0895.
- Image12a-g0895-s2.d64: The second setup disk of a stock Image 1.2a BBS.
- turborels-g0895.d64: "TurboRELs," which allow message bases to use RELative files to store/retrieve messages instead of large SEQ files. These are required if you wish to use the Image network.
- networking-g0895.d64: Image network setup files.
- image12a-y2k.d64: Updates the date of news items, messages and your sysop console to be Y2K-compliant.
- It's suggested you copy the Y2K patch files over the stock files before you write too many posts, otherwise you'll end up with weird years in posts like "2095" (and who wants that?). The disk image comes with some docs and a doc reader.
- serial changer.prg:
If later you want to join the Image network, you need to change the software's embedded serial # with this program. Two network nodes with the same serial # will not transfer messages between each other. - 05/13/2015 This seems to be incorrect. The Image network has been running just fine for months now between nodes with the same serial number. Thanks for the information, X-TEC.
- This program changes ml 1.2 and ++ net to a serial # between 1-9999 (not ++ post from the TurboRELs yet, use the Y2K version above since the serial # checks have been removed).
- It's slow, runs from drive 8 only, and should be considered an alpha program. Some serial #s don't get written to the ML properly due to not fully understanding how they're encoded in the Image ML yet. I'm trying to get a speed-improved version done which does a Kernal LOAD and SAVE from the current device, but so far it's worse off than this one.
This version does not overwrite original files, it creates ++ net (fixed and ml 1.2 (fixed. You need to rename these to ++ net and ml 1.2.
- image192K.d64: An updated RS232 driver for high-speed interfaces like the Turbo232 or SwiftLink. This replaces ml.rs232 and several file transfer protocol files with their high-speed counterparts. The +.e.modrc-config and associated *.modrc files are for configurable modem/telnet bridge responses.
- autoduel.d71: A 1571 disk image of Captain Keelhaul's "AutoDuel" adventure game, quite a large world to explore. Based on the game by Steve Jackson.
- nissa-archives.zip: New Image Sysop Support Association disk magazines for December 1993, June 1994 then a run of August 1994 through January 1995.
- reflections.zip: A collection of text files discussing pertinent subjects for Image sysops. In .SEQ format, so use Style's DirMaster 2.2 for Windows to convert to .TXT format. (Or give me a bit of time and I'll handle it.)
- reflections-txt.zip: Same as above, only in plain text format.

Added plus_modem - etc.txt, a mostly complete an explanation of how the high-speed +.modem/etc file works. The stock +.modem (2400 BPS max on the user port) is 99% similar, except for memory locations. (The user port version uses 56577 ($DD01) for the user port's Data Port B, while the 19.2k version uses SwiftLink/Turbo232 ACIA command registers at $DE00-$DE03).

Updated the quick-start guide with new RS232 connectivity solutions, and VICE settings to change for better performance.

A 1581 disk image of a working Image 1.2b should be created using X-TEC's existing configuration.

Work-in-progress, the Image 1.2b sysop manual with some formatting improvements.

Uploaded a .d81 image of Image BBS 1.2a, with TurboREL and networking subdirectories. You can navigate into them and filecopy between devices using copy-all or CMD's fcopy+. wcopy+ uses the speed advantage of JiffyDOS and is faster.

I'm beginning a quick-start guide, since the whole sysop guide a lot to read.
- web-page.zip: an archived collection of BBS stuff, both 1.2 and 2.0 related, plus some gobbledygook about my always-under-construction projects. Feel free to point and laugh. Oh, it also contains the HTMLized programmer's reference guide to 1.2a. It's rather ugly, since I know nothing about web page design.
- changelog.txt: a list of stuff I did to Image 2.0 to make it
worse better. - Image-2_0-Dec-2008.zip: Work in progress on Image BBS 2.0.
