This is the first undergraduate microeconomics course at SFU. This class is geared towards a non-economics audience and is suitable for business and other students not intending to specialize in economics The intent of this course is to provide a general introduction to microeconomics, the branch of economics dealing with behavior of individual decision makers such as consumers and firms.

This course first introduces students to the statistical and econometric methods that applied researchers use to answer causal questions in the economics of education. We then discuss theoretical and empirical foundations of how economists approach questions of education. By the end of the course, students learn how to critically evaluate statements about causal relationships in education.
SDA 490: Capstone Seminar in Social Data Analytics (Simon Fraser University)

This is the graduating requirement for a minor in social data analyitcs (final capstone project). The aim of this course is to guide students through a project that applies the skills students have learned in their studies to gain experience tackling real-world policy and social problems and develop a portfolio that they can showcase to prospective employers or graduate programs.

The goal of the course is for students to learn to think rigorously on their own about how economic agents make choices and the implications of these choices.

This is a masters course in econometrics. The course is divided into two parts: The first part covers basic econometric theory in matrix form. The second part of the course focuses on popular identification strategies in applied microeconomics (Selection on observables and matching, RCTs, Instrumental variable estimation, Differences in differences as well as regression discontinuity designs).
