B. Piedad Urdinola
I am a Demographer and currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics at Universidad Nacional de Colombia-Bogotá.
My research focuses in studying demographic processes in Colombia and Latin America where data is mostly defective. More than a problem, it becomes a challenge to empirically test different questions that have a large impact, for instance: indirect effects of conflict over demographic variables, long-term effects of adolescent childbearing, fiscal impact of the current aging process, small area/population measurement, and historical demography.
Co-founder and co-director of the Latin American Human Mortality Database (lamortalidad.org)
