Judoka spend a large part of each class in very close contact with other judoka. It is IMPORTANT that each of us arrives at class prepared to participate without offending our partners.
As a courtesy to our fellow judoka:
1. You should be clean and washed.
2. You should stay home when you are ill. If you must cough or sneeze in the club, please cover your mouth and nose.
3. Say something immediately if you feel sick to your stomach or if you need to use the washroom.
4. Fingernails and toenails should be trimmed short to prevent them from catching and tearing.
5. Shoes should be left outside the dojo. You can wear sandals (that have never been used outside) between the changing rooms and the training room, but we never wear shoes or sandals on the mats.
6. Food and drinks are prohibited in the dojo. Gum should never be chewed.
7. Your judogi (uniform) should be cleaned on a regular basis. Do not leave a sweaty judogi in your bag all week or it will begin to smell - you can hang it up between practices.
8. Jewellery can be very dangerous during practice. Please remove earrings, hair clips, rings, bracelets, watches, etc.
