What is the PES PTO?
The school's parent-teacher organization (PTO) is a service organization that provides support to students, teachers, and parents through many different programs and initiatives.
Who is in the PES PTO?
All parents and teachers are automatically members of the PTO, which is governed by the elected officers and those attending PTO meetings.
We hope you will keep yourself informed, help where you wish to, and join us at the monthly meetings. Our events are possible because of parent and community involvement.
When do PES PTO meetings occur?
PTO meetings are open to all. This year meetings are the 1st Thursday of the month, at 6:30pm. Please find meeting dates posted on the Events Calendar, they will be held via zoom and links will be in the calendar.
What does the PES PTO do?
In the past, the PTO sponsors numerous activities such as the fall and spring book fairs, the sale of gift wrapping paper and holiday wreaths, the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, Spring Fling Family Dance and Auction, and the Halloween Fest.
In recent years, the PES PTO has raised funds to buy playground equipment, outdoor basketball hoops, and the sound equipment used during assemblies. The PTO also provides support for various assembly presentations, the Children in the Arts Day Festival, the Fourth Grade End of the Year celebration, educational enrichment activities, and many field trips.
A major contribution of the PTO is to provide each classroom teacher with a classroom allotment (averaging $30 per student) which may be used by the teacher in the classroom or for field trips.
This year, it is up to the our group to determine how we will shift during covid. Funds will still be needed and connection through community events is still valuable! We just have to have creative and flexible thinkers to determine how we can continue safely!
