Join us for ASCE Pensacola's joint lunch meeting with FES. Guest speaker Mr. Steve Sorrell, Executive Director of the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA), will speak about the ECUA's resilient infrastructure and sustainable strategies. This event will be held at the Pensacola Library and lunch is provided.

Stephen E. Sorrell, P.E., M.P.A

Stephen (Steve) Sorrell is currently the Executive Director of the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) in Escambia County, Florida, which is located in Northwest Florida near Pensacola. The Authority provides water, wastewater, sanitation, recycling, and composting services to approximately 300,000 residents in the incorporated and unincorporated areas of the Panhandle.

As the Executive Director, Mr. Sorrell serves at the pleasure of a five-member elected Board and is the Chief Executive Officer for the daily operations of the Authority.

Mr. Sorrell is a registered Professional Engineer, has earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Dayton and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Cincinnati (U.C.). He was also a doctoral candidate for a Ph.D. degree in Public Administration.

Prior to joining ECUA in October 2002, Mr. Sorrell served as a City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Finance Director and in various engineering and law enforcement capacities.
