Make a Demo Movie

Mac Users:

You will be using quicktime to screen capture your app in action. With your app open and ready to be demoed, open the Quicktime app. Go to "File," and then click "New Screen Recording." A small box will pop up titled "Screen Recording" with a red record button. On the right side of the box there is a downward-pointing triangle. Clicking this allows you to choose how to record audio (choose "None" since no audio is required), the quality level of the recording (we suggest choosing "High"), and where to save the recording to. When you're satisfied with the options selected, click the red record button. A dialog box will pop up instructing how you can stop your recording. Click "Start Recording," and begin demoing your app. When you are finished, stop the recording by clicking "Stop Recording" up in the menu bar or by pressing command-Control-Esc.

Windows Users:

If you can't get access to a mac with quicktime (in my opinion the easiest option), you can download a trial version of Camtasia. Email jdforzano@gmail.com to work out how to record a demo of your app.

All:

Once you have a recording of your demo, upload the movie to youtube, and use the youtube link for the Gallery 2012 Spring page. To embed a youtube video into your site, follow these instructions.
