Signing Up
If you have yet to sign up for the class Coursekit, first go to coursekit.com, and then click "Enter Code" in the top right hand corner. In the dialog box that appears, enter the code "Y9CJFD," and then click "Join." If this is your first Coursekit class, you will then be instructed to fill out a new account form. Once the form is completed, you will be able to log in to our Coursekit and post submissions, comments and questions.
Using Coursekit - Stream
The stream is an ongoing feed for you to share relevant material and ask questions regarding class topics, but not for homework submissions. The stream is public, so if you find links, videos, or anything that you think is of interest to the rest of class, feel free to post it. We also strongly encourage you to post any questions you have about assignments, exams, or topics covered in class using the "Question" post option. When using this option, please give your question a relevant title and tag it with the assignment or topic that the question refers to. All of the staff will be notified when a question is posted, and we can answer it as soon as one of us is available to do so.
Using Coursekit - Calendar, Grades, and Submission
Under the "Calendar" page, you will find a stream that lists upcoming assignments and exams. This is where you will submit your assignments, not on the public stream. To submit, click on the assignment in the calendar stream. The assignment description window will appear to the right. Click the blue "Submit" button, and select the file you'd like to upload for submission. When the file is successfully uploaded, a message will appear with a green check mark and the official time stamp of the submission.
Although we won't be using our Coursekit to post grades, the "Grades" page will allow you to view a history of your submissions. On the page, you will see a list of the assignments that have been posted on Coursekit. Under the assignment title, you will see "Download" and "View History" if you have made a submission. Clicking "Download" will allow you to download the most recent submission, and "View History" will show you the list of all submissions you have made on that assignment, along with the official timestamps of the submissions, and the option to download any submitted version.
Using Coursekit - Profile and Settings
By clicking on your name in the top right corner of the page, you have the option to go to your profile or your settings page. On your profile page, feel free to update your bio or contact information. We strongly encourage that you upload a photo to your profile. On the settings page, you can modify your email notifications, privacy options, or change your password if needed.
