Being a PEG Marin member means being part of a community of people who believe that supporting the adults who care for children is one of the most powerful ways to help children thrive.
There are 2 options for PEG Membership:
Member Schools. PEG Member Schools have a parent/caregiver, PTA/PTO member, educator, counselor or administrator representing them. This individual is directly tasked with organizing and planning parent-ed events and community connection at their TK-12 public or independent school in Marin County.
PEG Partners. For a partner organization to join, they must offer virtual or in-person parent ed events. The events can hosted by their organization and open to the public or in collaboration with a local TK-12 public or independent school. PEG Partners go through a vetting process by current PEG Member Schools.
As a PEG member, you:
Collaborate, not compete. We pool resources and share what's working so that everyone benefits, regardless of which school, district or partner organization you're connected to.
Stay connected. You'll be in the loop on parent education events, initiatives, and resources happening across the county. We use WhatsApp, FB Private Group and FB page to share about each other's events.
Share your expertise. Whether you're a school counselor, a PTA leader, a teacher or a parent who's figured something out about planning events and building community the hard way, your knowledge has value here.
Elevate other members' events and resources. We cross-promote member events so great programming reaches more families.
Expand your network. You can build relationships with like-minded people across schools and organizations in Marin who care deeply about helping kids and caregivers thrive.
Help close gaps. By working together, we make sure more families, across more communities, have access to the support and information they need.
Membership is volunteer-based. There are no dues - just a shared commitment to showing up for the community.
PEG meetings happen 3x per year - September, January and April. The September meeting is always in-person as a way to kick off the new school year, build relationships and network. The January and April meetings are virtual and the dates are planned in advance of the start of the school year. Though we don't require you to attend meetings, PEG works better when members are active participants. To maintain the privacy of virtual meetings, we do not allow AI notetakers or recordings.
Communication is key. We have a WhatsApp group and private FB group to communicate with members and share information. We use Google Calendar for scheduling member meetings.
