Both world wars saw many Peebles people fall with honour for their country. This site does not deal with all the fallen, but rather those that are named in Peebles Cemetery, and the Private Burial Ground.
Sadly, a young Royal Marine from Peebles was Killed in Action in Afghanistan, and now lies at rest in the cemetery. He is also included here.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,

The main Cemetery in Peebles is located on the Neidpath road (A72 to Biggar) on the outskirts (Western approach) to the town. It is directly opposite Hay Lodge Park. NT 244405
The Commonwealth Graves Commission has the number of identified casualties as 44, although they only have details of 40 listed.
To copy information from the CWGC site is time-consuming. Hopefully, this site will alleviate that.
Within Peebles Cemetery there are 5 members of the Polish Forces laid to rest. I think it's fair to also include them.
In a quiet part of Peebles next to the Cross Kirk there is a 'Private' Burial ground. This is also included.
