Jane Addams Children's Book Award

This award is given annually to children's books that promote the causes of peace, social justice, world community, and the equality of all races and sexes. Since 1953 the award has been presented by the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) and the Jane Addams Peace Association.

Notable Books for a Global Society (NBGS)

In 1995, the Children's Literature and Special Interest Group of the International Reading Association formed the NBGS. The committee seeks to identify outstanding books that promote understanding across cultures, values, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity. Each year the committee reviews K-12 literature of all genres to select 25 outstanding titles.

Psychologists for Peace Children's Peace Literature Award

This award recognizes authors that promote peaceful resolutions of conflict through their literature. This is biennial award presented to Australian authors of children's books with that theme.

Skipping Stones Honor Award

The annual Skipping Stone Honor Awards are given to books that promote an understanding of the world's cultures and cultivate cooperation.
