2022... After making my own Telecaster under the supervision of Richard Baudry (near Lille) and retiring not long after that, I decided to make more guitars, for my own use and for the pleasure of making them. Being a geek who loves automation and programming things, it didn't take long before I started to dig in CNC machines.
Now... If you would like me to build you a citycaster with your specs, let me know :-)
My very first guitar is shown below, read the story with the shop, the side-projects and tools, as well as the full story behind the Citycaster series, following the sub-menu items under CNC or these links: The Shop, Test&Tools, CityCaster
There are also YT videos of some of the build process: Body, Neck, Fretboard, etc. from CityCaster Guitars
Happy reading!
After the first CityCaster, I took on a bass guitar project; I initially went for gator skin-like finish for the body but didn't find a suitable bump map for the skin texture. All photos I found create non-realistic results due to the photo lighting orientation that end-up as unwanted artefacts. So another map it finally was, London this time.
By the way, I can do literally any World city! :-)
I also made this '72 Telecaster based guitar, using this time a map of the greater Lyon area in France. Full story here.
2025 started with a new CityCaster... #004. It's an ongoing project with most likely more to come over the year :-)
Take a look at the menu tab on the left (or from the top) to read about new builds as they take place, and follow their evolution.
Have questions? comments? - All are welcome. I'll happily share files if you need them with a good reason.
Stay tuned for more, in dedicated project pages
