CityCaster

A cool name for a concept: City maps that are Laser-engraved on guitar bodies, initially Telecaster like but can be just any shape.

Now... If you would like me to build you a Citycaster, or any custom guitar actually! let me know ;  Your specs, your shapes, your choices (within reasonnable demands of course) at a cost we agree on before work starts. 

A full custom guitar has a cost of course, but with careful choice of woods and hardware, the price for a full custom guitar can start just below €1000.

2023-2024 Project(s)

After the first CityCaster, I took on a bass guitar project; I initially  went for gator skin-like finish for the body but didn't find a suitable bump map for the skin texture. All photos I found create non-realistic results due to the photo lighting orientation that end-up as unwanted artefacts. So another map it finally was, London this time.

By the way, I can do literally any World city! :-) 

I also made this '72 Telecaster based guitar, using this time a map of the greater Lyon area in France. Full story here.

What next?

2025 started with a new CityCaster... #004. It's an ongoing project with most likely more to come over the year :-)
