Laxmidas Borkar contributed as a freedom fighter for 18 years, a 51 year long journalistic career largely at Loksatta & Navaprabha, association with several organizations has been the backbone of his community work and 17 books & 1 Digital book are credited as a writer.

From 17 August 2024 to 17 August 2025 birth centenary of Swatantryasenani & Eminent Journalist Laxmidas Krishna Borkar shall be celebrated in Goa & Mumbai.

Archives of all writings in Goa newspapers from 1971 to 1999 completed. Archives of writings from 1948 to 1977 identified and is in process of collection.

A 75 member committee is formed comprising of Freedom fighters, history teachers, journalist, educationists, literary folks and Social workers.

Programs include Symposium of Editors, Paper presentation competition for Goa's working journalists and workshop for prospective journalist.
