This site contains the patient management process formulated by Dr. Reynaldo O. Joson.

I formulated the patient management process as early as 1998 (with records) or even earlier.

I am still trying to search for documents to see when I exactly started this patient management process. I might have started it as early as 1989 when I was developing a learning module for the provincial doctors in the Philippines during my stint as the Director of the University of the Philippines Postgraduate Institute of Medicine from 1989 to 1991. I might have developed it during the time that I was conducting distance education courses to surgical residents in Zamboanga City Medical Center (formerly Zamboanga Regional Hospital) from 1991 to 1997 and during the time that I was helping develop the medical curriculum of the Zamboanga Medical School Foundation from 1994 to 1997.

On record, however, I wrote a self-instructional material (SIM) in 1998 with title "Management of a Surgical Patient." See attachment in "Management of a Surgical Patient Process" folder. I made editings in 1999 and 2001.

I have been lecturing "Management of a Surgical Patient" to the University of the Philippines College of Medicine Year Level IV medical students from 1998 to 2004. This stopped when the UPCM implemented the Organ-System Integration medical curriculum in 2005.

I have been advocating this patient management process to all my students in medicine and surgery in the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, Philippine General Hospital, Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center Department of Surgery, and in other schools and hospitals that I have the opportunity to teach.
