In the fall of 2023, I bought this Mustang for my wife. This is the car she has always wanted. I bought it from a guy in Southern Maryland as a project - no engine and the front end sheet metal was disassembled. He did include a T5 in the deal and a bunch of new sheet metal (aprons, upper/lower cowl, radiator support, front fenders).
This is a I6/manual car: 4 bolt rims, 4 wheel drums, little rear. I hear that the T5 really livens up these weak I6's.
I picked up a complete running 1966 I6 from a guy in New Jersey. Included a new starter and alternator. Also included a I6 bellhousing and fork.
I'm tackling the cowl... Lots of welds to remove. With the cowl removed I can access all of the under dash parts easily. The brake/clutch bracket was damaged so I rebuilt it with new bushings. The parking brake lever was cracked so I replaced it with a good one that came in the parts bin. Lastly I took out the heater box and installed new seals/gaskets, tested the fan, replaced the heater core and fan resistor and re-installed it in the car.
