Professional Growth 2012-2013

I am a college professor. Part of my contract is to document my professional growth and development. Approximately 10% of my time at work should be devoted to these activities.

For the 2012-2013 academic year, I have several different goals for professional growth and development. First, as part of my duties in teaching One World Many People Many Stories Many Faiths, I would like to learn more Spanish. Learning a foreign language is a great way to learn more about the culture and people of foreign lands as well as Spanish speakers here in the USA. Second, I want to read more books which are connected to my classes. Third, I want to read more magazines and follow more podcasts which are connected to my classes. Fourth, I need to keep track of the various in-services and meetings here at the university which fall into the categories of professional growth and development. Below are the resources and books which are helping me achieve these goals.

  2. I facilitated a discussion of plagiarism as one forum in the optional inservice for online faculty during January, 2013.

  3. I attended the required faculty development day, Friday, March 22, 2013 and listened to presentations by faculty members.
