Malalcahuello (in mapudungun: "Corral of Horses») is a town of mountain located to 972 msnm in the Andean premountain range, Province of Malleco, Region of the Araucanía, between the communes of Curacautín and Lonquimay.
In Malalcahuello there places the National Reservation Malalcahuello, which possesses a big variety of native trees, between them the Araucanian Araucaria, the Oak, the Raulí, the Coigue, the Lenga and the Ñirre. Of this Reservation the Rio Cautín is born, and in her there is located in turn the volcano Lonquimay, which possesses a recognized center of ski.
