Constitution Day
Introduction
Click the Time Travel button when you are prepared to go! Click on 1778 to travel back in time. Complete the activities and click the back button to return and find out your task.
Task
Memorize the Preamble to the Constitution. Recite it to Mrs. Santiago
Write a three-paragraph theme about one of the founding fathers. Tell why you chose him. (DO not copy and paste, write in your own words).
Choose one of the states that ratified the Constitution and include seven facts about your choice. Tell why you chose that state. Make a poster in powerpoint copy and paste some clipart and pictures to your poster.
Make a poster (on the computer) illustrating the branches of U.S. government.
Read lyrics and/or listen to several American songs. In your own words, write a paragraph that tells what it means to be patriotic. How do these songs make you feel? Why do you think we stand when the National Anthem is played?
Choose three symbols of U.S. Government and make a sign about them. Be sure to tell what the symbols are and what do they represent.
Take the Preamble of the Constitution and type it in "Word" now use your thesaursus to change words you don't understand. (At least 5)
Use Photostory3 to describe what the constitution means to you or tell a story about the constitiution. Maybe you could use the Preamble in this digital story! How many people signed the constitution?
Make a poster on how we benefit from the freedoms embodied in the U.S. Constitution (including the Bill of Rights and the other amendments). You may enter this poster in the poster contest. See Mrs. Santiago or you may just turn it in for one of your tasks.
