Photos - Armature

After the 16" clay maquette was created by the artist, Crystal Przybille, it was 3-D scanned with a hand-held laser scanner (scanning and CAD-imaging generously donated by RnD Precision Imaging Inc., Vancouver). This intricate scan was then utilized to CNC-Machine a large, foam armature. This armature was carved and and finalized by the artist, and served as the basic under-structure for the detailed, oil-clay, life-sized original to be created upon by the artist in-studio.

The armature materials and CNC-Machining process were generously donated to the project by Kelowna-based company Formashape. The following photos are courtesy of Formashape.
