Photos - 3-D Laser Scanning

The 16" clay maquette created by artist Crystal Przybille was 3-D scanned with a hand-held laser scanner. The scan was then finalized with 3-D CAD Software. This scanning and CAD imaging process was generously donated to project by RnD Precision Imaging Inc., Vancouver. The CAD imaging was then utilized for CNC-Machining by Formashape (CNC-Machining process generously donated by Formashape, Kelowna).

Reflective stickers are used to create reference points for the scanner.

The scanning process takes over an hour to ensure all surfaces are scanned and recorded.
