2026 Blue and Gold Banquet
2026 Blue and Gold Banquet
William D. Boyce (London, 1909)
In 1909, Chicago publisher William D. Boyce lost his way in a dense London fog. A boy appeared and offered to guide him through it. After guiding him out, Boyce tried offering him a tip, but the boy declined stating that as a Scout he would not take a tip for doing a Good Turn. This gesture by an unknown Scout inspired a meeting with Robert Baden-Powell, the British founder of the Boy Scouts. As a result, William Boyce incorporated the Boy Scouts of America on February 8, 1910.
The Blue and Gold Banquet is an annual event and celebration that marks the founding of the Scouting movement by William D. Boyce on February 8, 1910. This year we are celebrating the 114th Birthday of Boy Scouts of America!
This is also the time that we celebrate the amazing achievements of our Arrow of Light scouts as they crossover from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA (formerly Boy Scouts). We are holding this event as our primary Pack gathering in February, so be sure to mark your calendar!
