Assistant Cubmaster (urgent need to fill Fall 2025) - the Assistant Cubmaster works with the Cubmaster to ensure a fun and safe scouting experience for all. The Assistant Cubmaster helps plan pack meeting and events; leads pack meetings, as needed. This role helps share the work, with the hope of moving to the Cubmaster position when it is vacated. We will ensure you have all the information you need to have a successful transition and positive volunteer experience!

Assistant Popcorn Kernel (open position) - shadow the current popcorn Kernel to learn the role and coordinate popcorn sales in the Fall of 2026.
Event Coordinator (open position) - Coordinate events, such as pinewood derby and soapbox derby. Order & pick up trophies; coordinate volunteers & supplies; etc. Cubmaster can provide the 'how to guide' and previous years orders, sign-ups, etc.
Outdoor Events Coordinators (2 open positions) - The outdoor co-chairs schedule campouts (book the campsite, coordinate payment, etc); coordinate activities at the campout (for example, BB/Archery, fishing, leather stamping - recruit other parents to help with this!); coordinate purchasing of food for Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast; coordinate hauling trailer to campsites; must be BALOO certified and/or ensure a BALOO certified adult is in attendance at campouts (see below). Without BALOO certified parents, we cannot have our amazing fun campouts!
Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
This one-and-a-half day course is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities.
BALOO training consists of an online pre-requisite component in addition to an overnight hands on practical. Click here to access the prerequisite training. The overnight portion is available through your District or Council.
BSA’s Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the discovery of the necessary tools to help units carry our a successful camping experience. Completion of this course is mandatory for a MINIMUM OF ONE adult on a Pack overnighter.
** Next BALOO training in our area is November 14th, 2025 @ Camp Wooten. For the Spring, the training is scheduled for May 8, 2026 @ Camp Wooten.
BB / Archery Range Master (1-2 openings) - training provided at Camp Tom Wooten. Next scheduled training is September 20, 2025.
