Cub Scouts welcomes youth of all ages K-5th grade. Your level will be determined based on your age or grade at the time you join. We have dens for boys and girls led by 2 leaders each. See below for more information about individual ranks.
Bobcat Cub Rank (First Time Scout)
All Cub Scouts start by earning the Bobcat rank. The Bobcat requirements focus on the fundamentals of of Cub Scouting. Requirements are:
Learn and say the Scout Oath, with help if needed.
Learn and say the Scout Law, with help if needed.
Show the Cub Scout sign. Tell what it means.
Show the Cub Scout handshake. Tell what it means.
Say the Cub Scout motto. Tell what it means.
Show the Cub Scout salute. Tell what it means.
With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide and earn the Cyber Chip award for your age.
Lion Cub Rank (Kindergarten)
Kindergarten children begin in the Lion den. Lion Cubs and their parents/guardians work as a team with other Lion families to achieve advancement stickers. Lions meet twice a month (1 den meeting and 1 pack meeting)
Tiger Cub Rank (First Grade)
First grade children join the Tiger den working with adult partners on advancements to earn beltloops and their Tiger rank.
Wolf Cub Rank (Second Grade)
Second grade children join the Wolf den working with adult leaders and family on advancements to earn beltloops and their Wolf rank.
Bear Cub Rank (Third Grade)
Third grade children join the Wolf den, while still working with adult leaders and family on advancements to earn beltloops and their Bear rank they are gaining knowledge to take on more of the work themselves.
Webelos Cub Rank (Fourth and Fifth Grade)
Fourth and fifth grade children join Webelos Scouts 1 and Webelos Scouts 2 respectively. They do more advanced activities to get ready to graduate into the older Scouting program.
Arrow of Light Award
Arrow of Light is the highest award in Cub Scouting. Webelos may begin working on this award their first year. This is the only award that boys and girls may wear on the older Scout uniform.
Dragon Scout (unofficial rank)
Many families have younger children that are not yet of age to be in cub scouts. We affectionately call these children Dragon Scouts as we are all dragging them to the meetings anyway. Cub Scouts is a family affair and we welcome all siblings.
