PACIFICS I EXPERIENCED IN REGULAR SERVICE
When I began searching and photographing steam locomotives in the mid 1950's, the Pacific type locomotive could still be found at work. Time, budget and my young age limited my filming of steam activity but this page of images provides a look at some of what I experienced. I saw many preserved Pacifics in recent times but I have only included on this page those that were in regular service. Subsequent pages include photographs made by others, mainly unknown, that I collected over the years.

In June 1959, I rode from Montreal to McAdam, New Brunswick in the Canadian Pacific sleeper on the left which was detached
from the "Atlantic Limited" and left at the combination station hotel restaurant. I woke that morning with a view of the roundhouse
in the rear which was nearly all steam. G2u Class Pacific 2660 is off a freight train.
