Volunteering

• Mentor, Optics PhD Mentoring Program (August 2022 – May 2023)

I participated in this peer connection program to help incoming PhD students get acquainted with graduate life at the University of Rochester and provide career advice.

• Secretary, OPTICA Rochester Section (July 2021 – June 2022)

I worked on scheduling the monthly council meetings as well as creating the official meeting minutes, distributing notices about upcoming talks, and managing logistics for the annual dinner program.

• Volunteer Assistant, SPIE Student Chapter (August 2019 – December 2019)

As part of the SPIE Outreach Committee, I worked as a volunteer at the Rochester Maker Faire for optics demonstrations.

• Reviewer, Summer 2021 Travel Grant Competition (April 2021)

I reviewed anonymous applications to determine the merit of various research proposals for conference grants.

Leadership

• Testing Assistant, Office of Disability Resources (August 2022 – December 2023)

My responsibility included proctoring exams and assisting with related logistics.

• Academic Programming Officer, Graduate Student Association (June 2021 – May 2022)

My primary responsibility included organizing the travel grant competition during each semester and managing the entire application process. I also worked in close liaison with all members of the association and took part in the annual strategic planning.
