Welcome

Hello! I am Ovishek Morshed, a Ph.D. candidate in Optics at the University of Rochester and advised by Dr. Todd D. Krauss. With a strong passion for science and technology, I embarked on my academic journey with a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2017. The curiosity to delve into the world of light with endless possibilities drove me to pursue higher studies in the field of optics. In 2020, I obtained my M.S. degree in Optics from the prestigious Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester and continued to pursue my Ph.D. During my research journey, I identified a gap between technical expertise and business acumen in innovation, inspiring me to acquire skills to bridge this gap. This led me to complete another master's degree in Technical Entrepreneurship and Management from the same institution.

My research focuses on exploring the photophysical properties of lightmatter quasiparticles, known as exciton–polaritons, with the aim of unlocking novel quantum applications and facilitating new chemical reaction pathways. I am actively seeking opportunities where I can apply my expertise and skills to contribute to the next generation of technological advancements.
