Otley Community Players (OCP) have been performing in Otley, West Yorkshire, UK since 1996.
(Were you looking for the Otley Players from Otley, Suffolk?)
The group came together following the Otley Community Play, which also generated a host of other community arts projects, including the town's own arts centre Otley Courthouse, Otley Youth (OY!) Theatre, Otley Junior Orchestra and Art Stars.
New members (aged 16 and over) are always welcome at OCP - whether you fancy having a go at acting, lighting, music, writing, stage management, prop design and manufacture, costumes, or just helping out in general. We're also often looking for experienced directors who we can learn from.
There is no annual members subscription, but everyone involved in a production pays a subscription towards the cost of that production.
We usually perform two plays a year: in summer and one around Otley Victorian Fayre in early December. We're organised on an informal basis: everyone can have a say in which plays we perform. We're keen on performing original material written specially for OCP by local writers or by writers from within our group.
There are no auditions for actors. If you'd like to have a go at acting then we'll support you.
