ERC Advanced Grant

I am delighted to announce that I have been awarded an ERC Advanced Grant for DYMAP — Dynamic Matching: From Theory to Public Policy. This €2.5 million, five-year project begins in November 2026.

About the Project

Many public-sector workers—including teachers, judges, police officers...—are assigned to positions repeatedly over the course of their careers through centralized procedures and algorithms rather than through conventional labor-market processes. These systems must balance individual preferences, institutional priorities, staffing needs, and broader public-policy objectives.

DYMAP combines game theory, market design, and empirical analysis to study these dynamic assignment systems. The project will develop new theoretical tools and empirical methods to evaluate existing mechanisms and design assignment algorithms that better align individual incentives with public-policy goals.

Research Team and Open Positions

Throughout the five-year project, I will be recruiting research assistants, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers.
