MBA Results

    • 287,304 occurrence records were included from the MBA data set
    • 34,499 distinct localities were extracted

Localities were compared to georeferences done in the MaNIS and HerpNet projects to determine georeferences based on published best practices (Chapman and Wieczorek 2006). These georeferences (51 localities for 10,698 occurrence records) were substituted for those from the Mexican Bird Atlas, which lack measures of uncertainty.

    • 1,834 (5.3%) localities could not be georeferenced.

Occurrence Records - the number of original records processed under the Mexican Bird Atlas Project.

Unique Localities - the number of distinct localities among the Mexican Bird Atlas Project occurrence records.

Localities from MaNIS/HerpNet - the number of distinct locality records for which georeferences produced under MaNIS or HerpNet were substituted for those in the Mexican Bird Atlas Project.

Georefed Occurrences - the number of occurrence records with georeferences after the Mexican Bird Atlas Project (with percentage).
