The first Board meeting firms meeting and event dates, sets the agenda for the upcoming general meeting, outlines plans and prizes for Butter Braid sales (PR, schedule, etc.), provides website/communications updates, and housekeeping (insurance renewal). Usually there is a Northshore Music Partners Music Booster Club Training with details provided by the Music Director. Booster Execs coordinate with Band Boosters for nonprofit renewal and tax preparations.
The first General meeting usually occurs ½ hour prior to the Kenmore open house, and serves to invite participation, kick off fundraising, share the calendar/plans, and encourage communications.
Butter braid fundraiser starts, may provide support for Roots Workshop (if applicable).
Butter braids are delivered around the Thursday prior to Thanksgiving.
Concert with pass the hat fundraising. Volunteers may be needed to help backstage.
Solo-Ensemble critiques (fees are charged, possibly supplemented by booster funds).
The second Board meeting for financial needs, events, & recruiting. The second General meeting usually occurs before a major field trip or event to disperse detailed info, invite all to fill board positions, etc.
The Third Board meeting sets the final general meeting agenda, & next year’s proposed roster.
The third and final General Membership meeting of the year occurs ½ hour prior to final concert. Next year’s Board members are elected. Donations are accepted. Roses may be sold. The post-concert Board meeting serves to transition information to new board members (binders, etc.), review finances, set a tentative schedule for events and meetings (only general info is known at this time).
