About WW2 "comfort women", you may think as;
'Mainly in the Korean Peninsula, 200,000 women were abducted by the Japanese military and forced to be sex slaves. Japan has committed extremely big crime against humanity systematically. Japan has tried to hide the existence of "comfort women" '
But there are some points you might not know;
Japan never denied existence of "comfort women".
The essential of "comfort women" issue is; Some countries insist that the upper echelons of Japan systematically committed atrocity. On the other hand, Japan denies that.
At the time of WW2, the Korean Peninsula was not colonized but annexed by Japan like the U.S. once annexed Texas. Korean people were not slaves. They lived as Japanese citizens. ( movie of annexed Korea (from 4min50sec- ))
It was generally known that "Comfort woman" was one kind of jobs. The prostitution was legal at that time. There was recruiting advertising on newspapers. This collaterally means that people in Korea could choose their jobs on their will.
There were many Japanese "comfort women". Nonetheless, why was there open recruitment in Korea?
One reason is that Korean men belonging to Japanese army needed them.
To think about population ratio, 200,000 women for Korea at that time means 3,000,000 women for the U.S. now. Remember that there were many Korean people in police and Japanese army. They were armed. But, at the time of WW2, there were no protest , no riots in Korea about the "comfort women".
After WW2, for 45 years, no-one in Korea appealed about the "comfort women" problem. The former "comfort woman" appeared in 1990s for the first time.
About abduction or atrocity by Japan, for that 45 years and even at now, there were no appeal, no testimonies other than by "comfort women" themselves. No testimonies in Korea, by their parents, brothers, Korean people who once belonged to police, Japanese army or local assemblies.
None of the former "comfort women" has been cross-questioned by Japanese staff for screening against misconception, altered memory, etc.
Were the "comfort women" abused or killed in an organized fashion ?
That's difficult to imagine. Troops or soldiers didn't go without them. They were important management resource for managers of comfort stations. Much cost was spent to take them from Korea. "Comfort women" were precious from every viewpoint.
The claim, 200,000 women were abducted by the Japanese military and forced to be sex slaves, is widely believed. It is unavoidable you believe it without verification because you don't have any stake on this matter.
But remember that there are no objective, verifiable evidences of this claim. Seeing the above 8 tips, this claim seems to be quite unnatural from a commonsense viewpoint.
The true-to-life aspect was thought to be; The Japanese military authority granted permits to civilian managers of "comfort station", transported "comfort women" and performed medical checkup of them. Unusually, small lower organization or an individual committed atrocities against military discipline.
This aspect is largely different from that claim.
In the end, "comfort women" is one case of universal problems about sex and human traffic coming from wars, poverty, old native habits and so on. It always exists even now in the world. Brothels for the U.S. military at the Korean War and the Vietnam War, sexual violation by PKO staff, prostitution by poverty in many countries,....
It's magnificent activity if every country deals their own problems in cooperation with others.
But it's unfair Japan is made the scapegoat and other countries ignore the same kind of their own problems.
Last of all;
You may say, "Stop joking! You are revisionist! Japanese politician Yohei Kono acknowledged the "sex slave", Prime Minister Abe also did. How can you explain it ?"
I do reply, "Because Mr. Kono and Mr. Abe were stupid. That's all. Due to their don't-rock-the-boat principle, they made easy concession without verification and counterarguments about the facts."
Politicians have no ability to change the truth about the past.
We can find many materials if we have will to search. There are the same number of truths as the number of persons. I've expressed my truth.
Why don't you find out your truth by yourself ?
( This article didn't deal with other countries' "comfort women" because the situation about Korea is different from others and almost impossible to argue in one lump.)

4. Some reports asserted atrocity by Japan. Seeing the referred facts in those, these credibility are unverifiable about atrocity by the upper echelons of Japan. ( On the other hand, they are appropriate to clarify Japanese military involvement with "comfort women" in such as transportation.)
