3:00 Unlimited 2 mile (non-scoring)
(individual awards for the top 3 finishers for men and women)
3:30 Girls Open 3 mile (grades 9-12)
4:00 Boys Open 3 mile (grades 9-12)
4:30 Girls Varsity 3 mile
5:00 Boys Varsity 3 mile

Entries
Intermediate Races: Maximum 15 runners from each school (grades 7-9)
Open Races: Maximum 15 runners from each school (grades 9-12)
Varsity Races: Limited to 7 runners from each school (grades 9-12)
Unlimited Race: This race is for any remaining athletes on your team, and for coaches or parents. Coaches, parents, and alumni
must pay the $5 entry fee to enter this race, and are not counted in the school fee for entries. Runners not affiliated with an
intermediate, junior varsity, or varsity team must register for this race at the check-in table near the finish line.
Scoring
In all scoring races, each team's top 5 runners score, and the next two runners count in the scoring as "blockers". In the Open and
Intermediate races, the 8-15th runners from a school do not factor into the team scoring. However, all runners are eligible for
individual awards.
EVERY RUNNER NEEDS TO SIGN A WAIVER FORM (SEPARATE ATTACHMENT). PRINT ENOUGH WAIVER
FORMS FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS FROM YOUR SCHOOL. HAND CARRY THE WAIVER FORMS TO THE
COACHES' MEETING ON RACE DAY.
Coaches are required to pick up their coaches packets and verify their final entry forms at the coaches meeting. The packet will include important items and instructions.
Course and Conditions
The Kualoa Ranch courses are mostly flat with a hill that is run once in the 2mile race and twice in the 3mile race. Parts of the course
are on dirt roads, grass, and trails. Spikes may be worn (the course does not cross over asphalt this year). In addition, expect very hot,
humid conditions. Shade tents will be supplied for mainland schools, but Hawaii schools will be required to bring their own form of
shade. Tent areas will be designated on race day.
Eligibility
Athletes may race in any division provided that they meet the eligibility requirements of their own league. Athletes must represent the
school in which they are enrolled for the 2016-2017 school year.
Awards
Top 10 individual finishers in each race will receive medals and the top 3 teams in each race will receive award plaques. The top 3
finishers (men/women) in the Unlimited Races will receive medals.
Invitational T-Shirts and Concession Stand
Specially designed t-shirts will be available on race day for $15. These t-shirts may be pre-ordered on a first come, first served
basis. We pay for a majority of our invitational with the proceeds from our T-shirt sales. Please encourage your runners and
parents to buy a T-shirt to help support our invitational!
Pre-ordered t-shirts will be set aside and can be picked up at the meet.
Notes to coaches
● If you will be using two-way radios, please leave CHANNEL 2 free for ‘Iolani and medical personnel.
● Please let us know of any athletes who may have an asthma/allergy condition and/or medical condition that warrants the attention
of our medical staff.
● If you have runners that habitually collapse at the conclusion of their race, please station an assistant near the finish line to help care for the runner.
Reminder: The races will be run on private property. Please do not come to the ranch before Saturday 12:00 noon.

school registration and the t-shirt forms. T-shirts will also be sold the day of the invitational while supplies last (t-shirts will also be
