I am a 50-something living in the Show Me state! My husband, Jim, and I have been married for more than 29 years. We have three awesome kids: Christopher, 27; Michael, 26; and Samantha, 25. As most parents would (hopefully) tell you, our kids teach us more about life than we could ever teach them!
I grew up an Air Force brat, so meeting new people is fun for me. My parents provided wonderful childhood memories, and are still there for me in everything I do. I have twin brothers, Rob and Tucker, and amazing sisters-in-law Virginia and Kristin (not to mention an awesome niece and three awesome nephews!) I love most sports...especially the Florida State Seminoles and the St. Louis Cardinals. I'm such a sports nut that I asked for (and received!) umpiring lessons for my 18th birthday.
I met Jim Schneider shortly after graduating from college. I took a radio job in Sioux City, Iowa. We married in 1990 and he is my best friend. Jim and I love classic cars of all shapes and sizes (mainly muscle cars from the 60s and 70s, but if you have a 1957 Nomad you'd like to part with...I'm your gal!). Our mission in life is to do what we can to create marriages that last forever. We do our best to lead by example when it comes to marriage...sharing our gifts through our faith community at Assumption Parish in O'Fallon, Mo., and with our amazing friends!
I am social media and technologically challenged, but willing to learn. Heaven knows my kids know way more than I do! Thank you for visiting Life on the Half Shelly! Please share it with your friends and family. Writing is a gift from God, and we were not created to put our light under a bushel basket. If you enjoy this bit of God-given light, please pass it along to others!
