What's in Vermont? In one word, COWS! Upon entering the border from NY to VT, the first thing we saw were COWS! All the way to Burlington, there were tons of farms with COWS! No wonder why Ben & Jerry's are located in Vermont! Haha. :) But FIRST, we explored the small city of Burlington, where there's a street of shops, eateries, coffeehouses, bars and a mall. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, but we settled for Sweetwaters, where we enjoyed some burgers. Then we took a short trip to the ECHO Aquarium (it's more of a children's aquarium/learning science center) a few blocks from the main streets, near the waterfront. It was a rainy day and in the afternoon we visited Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory for a tour. Tip: If you have a Foursquare account, check into the venue, and get the tour for FREE! If not, admission is $3.00. The tour was not producing ice cream that day, but everyone got to see a short video about how Ben & Jerry's began as well as a short clip with a live narrator of all the steps of how ice cream gets made. At the end, everyone gets a sample of Ben & Jerry's ice cream! Don't forget to capture a picture of the real cows upon entering/leaving Ben & Jerry's on the lawn near the entrance/exit!
