Application and Selection Process

Statistics:

We have received around 300 applications from various part of the country. We are screening the applications and we will publish the list of selected candidates in phase. As of now, the total available seats in the workshop is 40. 

Basic Selection Criteria:

 Its understood that its not possible to accommodate everyone.  The selection is purely based on the merits and the following are the criteria.

• Importance is given to 2nd and 3rd year B.Sc. / Integrated M.Sc., students

• Relatively consistent performance across 10th, 12th and B.Sc., is given importance

• Teacher recommendation is also given equal importance

• Due to lot of applications from all over the country we have tried to get representatives from maximum number of colleges / universities / institutes

• Applicants who have attended such similar workshops were not considered this time to give chance to others ( also due to too many applications)

Reaching the venue:

Participants from outside tamilnadu should reach the nearest city Salem from there we will arrange to take you to the venue. 

By Rail/Train

Salem is well connected to other important towns/cities of Tamilnadu as well as India by a good network of Railways. There are regular train services from Salem to Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi and other cities. 

By Road

Salem has three important National Highways (NH7, NH47 and NH68) through the city. As a major transit point for Bangalore/ Coimbatore/ Madurai/Chennai Salem has the 6/4-lane bypass road within the city that is busy round the clock. The Dr MGR Central Integrated Bus Terminus located in Meyyanur area. One can get buses for almost all the places of the state and Bangalore/Pondicherry anytime from the terminus.

Suggestions / Comments to the applicants by the Screening committee

• We found many students were impatient and insincere why filing the application form. For example, we asked for % of marks in mathematics in 12th class but one student has entered 168. Many applicants have done this mistake, this simply means that they have not taken time to read and understand the question.   

• We also suggest to the applicants to take time while filing the application. Lot of typos and mistakes. 

• Its not advisable to use SMS language like plz, tanq etc..

• Above all while giving your father's / mother's / teacher's name please say Mr. / Mrs. appropriately. Except a few applicants most of them have just given the name.

Confirmation of Participation

Congratulations to the selected candidates. To confirm your participation, immediately send an email from the registered email id to nurture.1729@gmail.com with subject "Confirmation - your name - 2016RSM***", you will be able to find your id in the selection list. Your confirmation email should reach us before 3rd August 2016 5:00PM. Also immediately start planning your travel.  

Selected participants would have received an email and sms in your registered email id and phone number.
