Northpoint

Northpoint

After the Monsoons are over and the clouds continue on their journey over the mountains, the residents of Darjeeling wake up each morning to a breathtaking view of Mt. Kanchenjunga (27,000 ft.), the third highest mountain peak in the world. Then to close out the day, each evening, the glorious sunset paints the skies with a spectacular display of all the colours of the rainbow.

Amidst this beautiful setting, nestled amongst the pine trees, is St. Joseph's College, also fondly known as North Point.

Both the School and College Campus are located right beside the Highway. The main building of the school division has a quadrangle around which are arranged the classrooms, study rooms, and the headmaster's office. The left front wing has the chapel. The dining hall and stewards rooms are annexes to the right. The dormitories are on the first floor. The school has 3 athletics fields and a concert hall (Fraser Hall) which are shared with the College Division, which is just about a 5-minute walk from the School. Both institutions are run by the Catholic Jesuit Order - The Society of Jesus.
