North Shore branch has a collection of “The New Zealand Herald” birth and death notices from the early 1940’s through to current date. The collection contains most notices published in from 1983 onwards. The years prior to that may not be as complete.
Each year from the 1940s has been indexed, either by surname only, or Christian name and surname. If you are requiring a notice for a year that has not been indexed, please ask – we may still be able to provide it.

In your request, please include the name of person and date (preferably day, month and year – if only year the year is known that will suffice) of event (birth or death). If the requested notice is located, an extract will be forwarded to you.
