Together with my sisters Linda Meier and Dorothy (Dotty) Lukas, I am profoundly grateful to my parents Ruth Grossman (13 March 1916 - 26 November 2002) and Milton Grossman (17 April 1911 - 1 July 2003), to whom I dedicate this website.
Linda, Dotty, and I could not have been more fortunate. Our parents were extraordinary. They gave us unconditional love, unlimited attention, and inspired us by the examples they set. They taught us about honesty, the difference between right and wrong, hard-work, respect for others, the importance of education and independent thinking, the value of money, and the fact that "money isn't everything". Our bad behavior always resulted in a calm, logical, and convincing explanation of how we misbehaved, why it was wrong, and what we had to do to avoid repeating our mistake.
My parents were pleased and curious about non-Newtonian calculus. But they hadn't studied enough mathematics to really understand non-Newtonian calculus or its potential for application. I wish they had seen the various applications of non-Newtonian calculus that have appeared on the Internet since 2003. They would have been happy.
At a restaurant years ago, my wife Jane offered to pay for her parents Nancy and Michael Tang's dinners. A wonderful and brilliant person, Michael Tang half-jokingly responded: "Don't bother. You can never repay us!" Well, Linda, Dotty, and I could never repay our parents, either.
